Moscow to grant $30m to reconstruct S. Ossetia capital

Moscow city authorities will allocate RUB 1bn (approx. USD 27.6m) towards the South Ossetian capital Tskhinval's reconstruction efforts. As RBC was told at the Moscow government, a corresponding directive has been signed by the Russian capital's Mayor Yury Luzhkov.

According to the document, the Moscow City Capital Construction Order Department will receive about RUB 1.086bn (approx. USD 30m) from the ending cash balance of the Moscow city budget as of January 1, 2009. The money will go towards payment for reconstruction of the Republic of South Ossetia and Tskhinval's social and engineering infrastructure.
